About
Meg Smith graduated from McMaster University’s school of physiotherapy in 1999. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Sport Physiotherapy at Western University’s Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic and a Master of Science through McMaster University’s School of Rehabilitation Science in 2017.
Meg’s areas of interest include musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports injury management. To this end, she holds certification in acupuncture, is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Meg is a member of Cochrane Canada’s Back and Neck group with a research interest in exercise for neck disorders. She is active within the physiotherapy community as a clinical mentor and orthopaedic instructor for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Her past involvement in sport has included university, club and national team coverage for rugby, hockey, fastball, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee and curling.
A former competitive Nordic skier, paddler and fastpitch softball player, Meg is now happy to pursue physical activities that can be done with her young family.
