Our Lifemark Physiotherapy Portland Street clinic is conventially located in Dartmouth. We have a large parking lot with unlimited free parking and wheelchair accessible spaces. We are also accessible by bus route.
Lifemark Physiotherapy Portland Street is a multidisciplinary clinic located inside Fit4Less at 650 Portland Street in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Our services include physiotherapy, pelvic health, concussion care, osteopathy, massage therapy, occupational therapy, orthotics and bracing.
On staff we have three physiotherapists, three registered massage therapists, two kinesiologists, a pedorthist, an osteopath, and an occupational therapist.
We are equipped with 10 physiotherapy and rehab treatment rooms and an in-clinic gym for patients. We also have access to the Fit4Less gym to progress our patients to an independent gym program that is safe and specific to their needs.
IFCs, ultrasound, shockwave, acupuncture/dry needling and laser therapy are a few of the modalities we have to offer you on the path to healing. Exercise balls, weights, and balance tools are located in our gym to meet your every need.
Our therapists listen to your concerns. An individualized treatment plan will be provided for your needs.
We treat everyday aches and pains, sport injuries, work-related injuries, as well as motor vehicle related injuries. Some of our specialty programs include Concussion and Cancer Care, Pelvic Health and Shockwave therapy. Our goal is to educate patients on their body mechanics and provide a personalized approach specific to your needs.
We also offer bilingual services.
We have physiotherapists trained in acupuncture and dry needling, as well as physiotherapists trained in advanced manual and manipulative therapy, which is hands on joint manipulation/mobilization as well as advanced assessment and treatment techniques.
Muscle rebalance programs to correct faulty movement patterns that cause pain and dysfunction are also assessed by our physiotherapists, kinesiologists and massage therapists.
Our registered massage therapists have years of experience and clinical expertise. With massage techniques based heavily in myofascial release, our massage therapists have had great success in treating scar tissue and postural related conditions that can lead to chronic pain.
Occupational therapists work with people of all ages and abilities who may experience obstacles in participation of daily activities. Our cccupational therapist offers various return-to work-services including work site visits, physical and cognitive demands analysis, job coaching, and ergonomic assessments.
The OT works to identify tasks which may be challenging for the employee to assist with return to work planning. Our occupational therapist also offers functional capacity evaluations, concussion and psychosocial assessments, cognitive evaluations and pediatric services. Our goal is to break down physical, cognitive and/or psychosocial barriers to promote health through occupation.
